North Kitsap High School
That's not a typo. We are using 2026 to build our organization and to fundraise so we can make the 2027 festival bigger and better!
Set in the picturesque town of Poulsbo, WA (also known as Little Norway), our festival brings young readers, authors and illustrators together in a joyful celebration of stories and books.
And our School Visit Day (the Friday before the festival) provides free author visits
and free books to schools throughout Kitsap County.

"As the library media specialist at David Wolfle Elementary, nothing lights me up like watching a child fall in love with a book — and when a real author visits our library, that spark catches fire. For our students, so many of whom rarely get the chance, meeting a living author says: your stories matter, and you could write one too." Mayra Gaal.
"As a librarian, there is nothing more rewarding than watching a budding reader connect deeply with a story." Kari Wetzler, Island School Librarian
"These experiences spark students' imaginations, encourage them to write their own stories, and make reading even more exciting." Becky Ryan, Vinland Elementary Librarian
